Universal Studios Florida’s Horror Make-Up Show is set to return with Blumhouse as part of its reimagined format, Universal Orlando announced Oct. 9.
The live show, housed in the Pantages Theater in the park’s Hollywood area, demonstrates movie special-effects and makeup techniques with audience participation. Universal said the updated production will explore how special-effects artists have frightened film audiences for more than 100 years, moving from Universal’s classic monsters to modern Blumhouse horror.
The previous version closed May 12, 2026. At the time, Universal said a reimagined show would open in winter 2026 and retain the comedic, irreverent style guests know while adding classic and modern horror properties and new surprises.
