Jurassic Park River Adventure at Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure is now expected to reopen December 17, 2026, extending a refurbishment that began January 5.
The attraction had previously been scheduled to return November 19. Universal’s operating calendar lists the ride as closed through December 16, while its attraction page gives December 17 as the expected reopening date.
Universal has not detailed the work underway or announced changes to the experience. The boat ride, which opened with Islands of Adventure in 1999, takes guests through Jurassic Park before an encounter with a Tyrannosaurus rex and an 85-foot drop.
The revised reopening places the ride’s return just before the Christmas travel period. While it is closed, Jurassic Park visitors can still find Jurassic World VelociCoaster, Pteranodon Flyers, Camp Jurassic, the Jurassic Park Discovery Center and Raptor Encounter in the land.
