Central Florida beaches could see waves reaching 9 to 15 feet this weekend as stronger winds return to the region, according to WFTV meteorologist James Tutten.
Thursday is expected to remain warm, mostly sunny and dry, with afternoon highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. Conditions are forecast to shift over the weekend, when the strongest wind gusts are expected along the coast.
The building surf could create dangerous conditions for beachgoers. WFTV reported that the National Weather Service may issue additional coastal advisories in the coming days.
King tides arriving alongside the high surf could also bring minor coastal flooding to some coastal areas. Visitors should monitor the forecast and follow advisories from local officials as the weekend approaches.
