Universal Orlando Resort visitors in October will find several experiences unavailable, including the full closure of Universal’s Volcano Bay beginning Oct. 26.

The water park is scheduled to remain closed through the end of 2026, with Universal planning to reopen it on or before April 1, 2027. Guests visiting before Oct. 26 can still include Volcano Bay in their plans. After that date, Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure and Epic Universe will be the resort’s operating theme parks.

At Universal Islands of Adventure, Jurassic Park River Adventure remains closed for refurbishment after shutting down in January. The water ride is expected to return in November, meaning October visitors will miss its reopening. Jurassic World VelociCoaster remains the park’s operating Jurassic-themed attraction during the closure.

Universal Studios Florida also has two ongoing closures. Finnegan’s Bar & Grill has been closed since January and is expected to reopen sometime this winter, though no date has been announced. Universal’s Horror Make-Up Show, which closed in May, is likewise expected back this winter.

The show’s absence comes during the Halloween Horror Nights season, when horror fans visit Universal Studios Florida throughout October. Travelers planning Universal Orlando tickets this month may want to check the resort’s operating calendar before their visit, particularly if Volcano Bay or one of the temporarily closed experiences is part of their itinerary.
