NASA and SpaceX are targeting no earlier than Tuesday, Oct. 13, to launch the 35th SpaceX commercial resupply mission to the International Space Station from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled to carry the Dragon spacecraft from Space Launch Complex 40. NASA said Dragon will be loaded with more than 6,300 pounds of scientific investigations, crew supplies and equipment.
After reaching the station, Dragon is expected to autonomously dock with the space-facing port of the Harmony module. NASA plans to provide launch and docking coverage through its streaming platforms.
Among the research heading to the orbiting laboratory is Lambda-Vision-1, an investigation studying artificial retinas in microgravity. The International Space Station has supported more than 4,000 microgravity experiments involving scientists from more than 110 countries during its more than 25 years in operation, NASA said.
