The Hall of Presidents at Magic Kingdom has been unusually active in 2026, with Walt Disney World quietly cycling through a series of presidential artifacts in the attraction's lobby display cases — at least four separate updates since the beginning of the year. The changes follow a major refurbishment that concluded on June 29, 2025, when a new audio-animatronic of President Donald Trump was introduced and the show was updated to reflect his return to office.
The rotation kicked off in February when a basketball on loan from the Barack Obama Presidential Library was removed, likely returning to Chicago with the opening of the Obama Center. In its place, Disney added an image of President John F. Kennedy alongside the White House pony Macaroni. By May, the lobby had gained a World War I-era mess kit and photo belonging to Harry S. Truman (on loan from the Truman Presidential Library), a football and photo connected to Gerald R. Ford's near-professional football career, and a dinner party dress and library card belonging to First Lady Bess Truman — replacing a gown that had belonged to Rosalynn Carter.
July brought another round of additions: a tennis racket gifted to President George H. W. Bush by South Korean President Roh Tae-woo during a 1992 visit, displayed alongside a photo of the two leaders on the court, on loan from the Bush Presidential Library in College Station, Texas. That same month, the First Ladies case was updated with a dress, portrait, and hair comb connected to First Lady Dolley Madison.
Most recently, guests this week noticed yet another new gown installed in the First Ladies display case. Notably, the identifying plaque from the previous dress — which belonged to Lucy Webb Hayes, wife of President Rutherford B. Hayes — was left in place, and the new item currently lacks its own placard, suggesting the signage hasn't caught up with the change yet.
