Walt Disney World has added a hotel room-preference feature to the My Disney Experience app, giving guests a way to submit certain room requests before they arrive.
The new option lets guests request preferences such as a particular building, bed size or floor level when comparable rooms are available. Guests can also select an option prioritizing the earliest available room over a particular room type.
The feature is currently available for Disney value and moderate resorts, according to Mickey Visit. It does not appear to be available at deluxe resorts.
Room location can matter particularly at larger resorts with multiple buildings. At Disney’s Pop Century Resort, for example, a guest may prefer a building near the Disney Skyliner station, a pool or a particular decade-themed section. Requests must match the room category booked, so a guest who reserved a standard room cannot expect a preferred-location room simply by making a request.
Planning Your Trip
Undercover Tourist is an authorized seller of Walt Disney World hotel and ticket packages, often with savings over booking direct.
Disney guests could previously ask for room preferences through a Cast Member by phone or at the front desk. The app now provides a way to make those requests electronically, though Disney does not guarantee that requests will be fulfilled.
The update follows the retirement of an unofficial room-request tool from Touring Plans, which had allowed users to request specific room numbers using its room database.
