Walt Disney World is set for a busy 2027, with new offerings planned at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom, plus a new Bay Lake resort hotel.

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the former DinoLand U.S.A. is being remade as Tropical Americas. Its planned lineup includes Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, a family attraction set inside the Casita on the day Antonio receives his animal-communication gift. The area will also include Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, which will use the former DINOSAUR building and ride system for an original adventure in an ancient Maya temple. A third attraction, El Carrusel de los Animalitos, will be a carousel in Pueblo Esperanza with 22 hand-carved animals inspired by Disney and Pixar stories.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is expected to begin opening Monstropolis in phases during 2027. The Monsters, Inc.-inspired area will include the Glob Theater’s Welcome to Monstropolis live show, along with Harryhausen’s Restaurant, Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza and the Scareporium merchandise shop. Construction will continue on the land’s suspended door-vault coaster as other portions begin welcoming guests.

At Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress is expected to return in late spring 2027 after closing in July 2026 for a major update. Disney is revising the attraction’s time periods to include the 1960s, the 1980s, New Year’s Eve 1999 and a possible future. A new opening scene will feature an Audio-Animatronic Walt Disney. The Tomorrowland attraction traces its roots to the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair.

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is scheduled to open July 1, 2027, along Bay Lake. The nature-inspired hotel is planned to have 967 rooms, including studios, larger villas and waterfront Lake Houses. Disney has said the property will draw inspiration from Bambi, Pocahontas, Fantasia and Brother Bear.

Visitors planning a 2027 Walt Disney World vacation will have additions spread across the resort rather than concentrated in one park. Disney has not provided a specific opening date for Tropical Americas or the first phase of Monstropolis beyond 2027.
