Solar-powered trash cans have arrived at Disney Springs and expanded to additional locations at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, according to WDWNT.
At Disney Springs, several of the new bins were installed around Town Center. The blue-gray cans carry white Disney Springs decals featuring district buildings, its water tower and the phrase “The source of inspiration.”
Solar panels on top power built-in trash compactors. The bins have foot pedals for opening the waste compartment, though guests can also pull them open by hand. WDWNT reported that Disney released an instructional video after some guests found the design confusing.
The powered-bin design debuted at EPCOT in June, and Disney subsequently said it would be rolled out across Walt Disney World.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom now has more of the solar-powered cans in location-specific designs. Near Expedition Everest, brown bins feature red triangular tiger decals. In the park’s Africa area, brighter orange cans display the Harambe Enterprise logo with African imagery and animals.
Green bins near Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail are branded for the Harambe Wildlife Reserve and include a sable antelope in the center of the decal.
