Disney’s Airport Luggage Transfer at Disney program can make a Walt Disney World arrival or departure feel much lighter—literally. Eligible guests can have checked bags routed between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and select Disney Resorts Collection hotels, so there is no need to wait at baggage claim on arrival or stand in the airline check-in line on departure.
It is important to understand what this pilot service does not include: it moves luggage, not people. You will still need to arrange your own ride between MCO and Walt Disney World. And because it is a pilot program with a limited hotel and airline list, check the current details before you go.
Which Disney hotels are eligible?
As of 2026, the participating hotels are Disney’s five Value Resorts plus Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort:
- Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
- Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
- Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
- Disney’s Pop Century Resort
- Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
Caribbean Beach is a Moderate Resort, so do not assume the perk is restricted strictly to Value Resort guests. On the other hand, it is not currently available at every Disney hotel—guests at other Moderate, Deluxe and Deluxe Villa resorts should plan to handle checked bags at MCO themselves.
Participating airlines and basic eligibility
Your flight must be a domestic itinerary on American Airlines, JetBlue, Southwest Airlines or United Airlines. International flights are not eligible, even if the final flight into Orlando is operated by one of those carriers. You also need an active reservation at one of the participating resorts and your airline confirmation number.
The service may be used in either direction or both directions of the same stay. Airline checked-bag rules, weight limits and fees still apply, so pay any required baggage charges directly through the airline.
How arrival luggage transfer works at MCO
- Register through Disney’s Airport Luggage Transfer enrollment form between 30 days and 24 hours before your departing flight to Orlando. Have both your Disney Resort confirmation number and flight confirmation number ready.
- Check in with your airline as usual and pay any bag fees. If you enrolled more than seven days before travel, luggage tags are mailed to you. Travelers registering closer to departure do not receive mailed tags, but can still use the service and track their bags through the confirmation email.
- At your home airport, check bags following your airline’s normal procedure, then fly to MCO.
- After landing in Orlando, skip baggage claim and head to your prearranged transportation.
- Allow up to four hours from the flight’s arrival time for bags to reach your Disney hotel. Retrieve them from Luggage Assistance/Bell Services in the lobby, or call from your room to request delivery. Gratuities for room delivery are not included.
Planning Your Trip
Undercover Tourist is an authorized seller of Walt Disney World tickets, often at a discount off gate price.
This timing is the big planning point. Keep pajamas, swimwear, park necessities and anything needed for the first several hours with you rather than in a checked suitcase. Medications, travel documents, valuables, laptops, cameras, power banks and heat-sensitive or perishable items should always stay in your carry-on.
How departure luggage transfer works
For the ride home, complete airline check-in online beginning 24 hours before your flight and pay applicable bag fees before heading to Luggage Assistance/Bell Services. Bring your government-issued photo ID and boarding pass; Disney does not print boarding passes as part of this service.
Drop checked bags at the resort between 24 hours and four hours before scheduled departure. You may bring them to the lobby yourself or call Luggage Assistance from your room for help getting them to the drop-off area. Leaving the inbound airline tags on your bags can help streamline the handoff.
Once your bags are accepted, make your own way to MCO, proceed through security and pick up the luggage at baggage claim at your final destination. If a flight is canceled, Disney says the bag will be redirected to the new flight; contact the airline for assistance once the bag has left the resort.
Restrictions worth remembering
- The service is limited to the six listed resorts and four listed airlines.
- Only domestic flights qualify.
- It does not replace airport transportation.
- Gate-checked items can be delivered to the resort unless you specifically ask to collect them at your destination gate.
- Strollers and car seats are better kept with your party and gate-checked if needed.
- If your resort or flight confirmation number changes, update the registration promptly; a move to a nonparticipating hotel or airline ends eligibility.
Practical takeaway: This is most useful when you are comfortable being without checked bags for a few hours. Pack a well-stocked personal item, register before the 24-hour cutoff, and confirm the hotel-and-airline list again shortly before travel.
