SpaceX is targeting a 6:33 a.m. Tuesday launch from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station for its next Dragon cargo mission to the International Space Station.
The Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled to lift off from Space Launch Complex 40 in Brevard County on the Commercial Resupply Services-35 mission, known as CRS-35. Dragon will carry supplies and cargo in support of NASA research and operations aboard the orbiting laboratory.
If Tuesday's attempt does not proceed, a backup launch opportunity is scheduled for 6:08 a.m. Wednesday.
Following a journey of about 52 hours, Dragon is expected to dock with the International Space Station around 11 a.m. Thursday. SpaceX also plans to return the rocket's first-stage booster to a ground landing at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station after liftoff.
That landing is expected to create a sonic boom that may be heard around Florida's Space Coast.
