Chef Gerardo “Jerry” Quijada Gonzalez’s path to Be Our Guest Restaurant began nearly two decades ago with Walt Disney World’s International College Program.
Gonzalez first worked as a cast member at EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion. After returning to Mexico to complete college and begin a culinary career, he continued to hope for an opportunity to come back to Walt Disney World.
That opportunity eventually brought Gonzalez and his family to Central Florida. He applied to Walt Disney World several times before joining the resort as a sous chef in 2016.
Gonzalez is now the chef de cuisine at Be Our Guest Restaurant, the Beauty and the Beast-themed dining location in Magic Kingdom. His role places him at one of the park’s signature table-service restaurants.
