Tacos Atarantados, a Monterrey-born taquería with a second Miami location in Wynwood, serves Northern Mexico-style street tacos made with meat shaved from a traditional trompo, or rotating spit.
The restaurant is at 218 NW 25th St. Its dining room has bright lighting, subway-tiled walls and green metal folding chairs, according to Time Out.
For diners deciding what to order, Time Out recommends the Trompo Surtido: al pastor beef and pork in corn tortillas with pineapple. Tables also receive a tray of seven house-made salsas in different heat levels.
Happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., with $7 margaritas, $5 tequilas and $5 Coronas listed by Time Out. Sala de Despecho, a cocktail and karaoke bar, is located inside.
Tacos Atarantados lists hours of noon to 2 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday and noon to 11 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday, making it a late-night option in Wynwood later in the week.
