South Florida is expected to get a break from the heavy rain Friday after days of downpours and flooding, but hazardous beach and boating conditions remain in place.
According to CBS Miami, Miami-Dade and Broward counties should see mostly dry weather, aside from isolated showers. Clouds are expected to gradually give way to improving conditions through the day, with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s and humid air making it feel warmer. A few showers could return late Friday night, though widespread rain is not expected.
The Florida Keys could still see showers Friday morning, especially near Key West. CBS Miami reported that street ponding remains possible in areas saturated by Thursday's record rainfall and flooding. A flood advisory for Monroe County was issued at 9:28 a.m. Friday and was set to remain in effect until 11:30 a.m.
Along the Atlantic coast, a high risk of rip currents continues Friday, making swimming dangerous even as rain eases. Small craft cautions are also in effect for Atlantic waters and around the Keys, according to the report.
The drier pattern is forecast to continue into the weekend, with Saturday expected to be mostly dry and Sunday shaping up as the better day for outdoor plans. Rain chances are expected to increase again next week as South Florida remains in its rainy season.
