Royal Caribbean has removed Port Canaveral, Perfect Day at CocoCay and Nassau from the Oct. 18 Oasis of the Seas sailing from Cape Liberty in Bayonne, New Jersey, citing worsening weather conditions off the East Coast.
The seven-night cruise was scheduled to call at Port Canaveral on Oct. 20, followed by CocoCay and Nassau. Instead, Oasis of the Seas is set to travel north for an overnight stop in Halifax, Nova Scotia, arriving at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, and departing at 8 a.m. the next day. The ship is still scheduled to return to Cape Liberty on Oct. 25.
The revised itinerary includes five full days at sea. Royal Caribbean said its meteorology team reviewed the developing conditions and that the route change was intended to provide a safer, more comfortable journey. The cruise line advised guests to pack warmer clothing for Halifax.
According to a passenger notice reported by Royal Caribbean Blog, the first and second guests in interior and ocean-view cabins will receive $200 each in refundable onboard credit. The amount rises to $300 per person for balcony and neighborhood balcony cabins and $600 per person for suites; third and additional guests receive $100 each.
Royal Caribbean is also offering eligible paying passengers a 50% future cruise credit. The line expects to issue those credits by Nov. 1, 2026, and says replacement sailings must be booked by Oct. 18, 2027. Shore excursions booked through Royal Caribbean for the canceled Port Canaveral, CocoCay and Nassau calls will be refunded as onboard credit, with unused amounts returned to the card on file.
Guests who booked independent activities in Port Canaveral or the Bahamas will need to contact those providers directly. Royal Caribbean has not canceled the sailing itself, and passengers should consult the cruise line's app and direct communications for any further updates.
