A first-time Disney cruiser traveling without children found plenty to enjoy aboard the Disney Wish, from adult-only deck space and trivia to spa time and a stop at Castaway Cay.
Writing for Business Insider, Conz Preti said she and a friend flew from Boston to Orlando before boarding the ship. With seven children between them, including three sets of twins, the pair chose an adults-only getaway and found that they were not alone: other adults without children used the ship’s adult-focused areas and activities as well.
Preti highlighted the adults-only pool deck, which has a small pool, jacuzzi, bar and coffee shop, plus adult activities such as dance parties and trivia. She also enjoyed the ship’s included dining, nonalcoholic drinks and 24-hour room service. Some offerings carried additional charges, including alcoholic beverages, specialty dining and spa services.
Castaway Cay was a standout stop for Preti, particularly Serenity Bay, the island’s adults-only beach area. She described it as quieter and more relaxed than the family beach, with a nearby restaurant for lunch.

For a future sailing, Preti said she would reserve extras sooner. She found limited spa appointment availability when she looked about a week before embarkation; she ultimately booked a couples massage on embarkation day and an 8 a.m. facial. She also said the packed activity schedule created conflicts between choices such as bingo and trivia.
Her other lesson was to pack less. Costumes and outfits for the ship’s pirate night and Halloween party filled her luggage, leaving little room for souvenirs purchased onboard. Although the adults-only pool area offered a calmer setting, she noted that sound from movies at the family pool deck could still carry over.
