Disney has shared new concept art for the Glob Theater, a planned Monstropolis venue at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that is expected to be among the first parts of the new Monsters, Inc.-inspired area to open in 2027.

The exterior artwork shows a large theater marquee reading “Welcome to Monstropolis,” along with the phrase “A Scarefree Theatrical Extravaganza.” Posters featuring Mike Wazowski and Sulley flank the entrance, giving the venue the look of a classic movie theater recast for the fictional monster city.

Inside, the preview shows eye-themed chandeliers, monster-style film posters and a “Monster Concessions” display. One poster is titled “Silence of the Cribs.” Disney has not said whether the concession area will sell food or drinks.

Disney also revealed a closer look at a laugh canister design for the land. The canister resembles those seen in Monsters, Inc. and appears to include a microphone-like feature near its base. Disney has not detailed how the canisters will be used in the finished area.

Monstropolis is scheduled to begin opening in phases in 2027. In addition to the Glob Theater, Disney has announced Harryhausen’s restaurant and a suspended door-vault coaster that will take riders into the film’s door warehouse. Construction on the coaster will continue after the initial phase begins welcoming guests.
