If you're looking for a celestial fireworks show, NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has you covered. A newly released image of the globular cluster Messier 3 — known to astronomers as M3 — shows more than half a million stars packed together in a brilliant, swirling display.
What makes the image especially striking is its color palette: the stars blaze in shades of red, white, and blue, giving the scene an almost patriotic feel against the darkness of deep space.
Globular clusters like M3 are among the oldest and most densely populated structures in the universe, making them endlessly fascinating subjects for space-based observatories like Hubble.
