Guests arriving at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are expected to return to the resort’s familiar main entrance beginning October 19, 2026, after using a temporary route since September.

The reopening connects the resort entrance to a new roadway arrangement along Floridian Way, where Walt Disney World opened its first two roundabouts to traffic on August 10. The existing Grand Floridian guardhouse will remain in place, according to roadway plans cited by Inside the Magic.

The entrance work is part of the World Drive North Phase III project. Plans call for an approximately 200-foot roadway extension linking the resort entrance with the southern roundabout. Floridian Way also is being converted into a one-lane, one-way exit route from the cast member parking area, while a separate entrance is planned for Disney’s Wedding Pavilion south of its current access point.

The October 19 change does not mark the end of construction at the Magic Kingdom-area resort. Disney has said work in select areas, including the covered arrival entrance, is expected to continue through early 2027. Documents from the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District list a December 21, 2027, completion date for the broader World Drive North Phase III project.

For Grand Floridian stays beginning October 19, visitors should plan to use the main entrance rather than the temporary arrival route, while allowing for ongoing work around the covered entrance and nearby roads.
