Disney's Armed Forces Salute has long been one of the most generous theme park discount programs in the country — and 2026 takes it up a notch. In honor of America's 250th anniversary, Walt Disney World added a brand-new year-long ticket option alongside its classic multi-day lineup. Whether you're planning one big family vacation or hoping to visit multiple times across the year, here's everything you need to know before you buy.
Who Qualifies
Eligibility casts a wide net. The program is open to active-duty and retired members of all six branches of the U.S. Armed Forces — Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and Space Force — along with the National Guard, Reservists, the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS), the Commissioned Corps of NOAA, and 100% permanently disabled veterans with a proper DEERS/RAPIDS-issued military ID. Spouses of eligible service members also qualify, provided they can present a valid and active U.S. military ID. Notably, 2026 marks the first year Disney World has added a first-day verification requirement: the eligible service member or spouse must be present with their group when tickets are used for the first time, though guests may enter independently on all subsequent days without the member needing to accompany them. Always confirm current eligibility rules directly with Disney or your base ticket office before purchasing.
The 2026 Ticket Lineup at Walt Disney World
For 2026, eligible service members can choose from four Walt Disney World ticket types, all valid for visits January 1 through December 18, 2026:
- 4-Day Park Hopper: $409 plus tax
- 5-Day Park Hopper: $429 plus tax
- 6-Day Park Hopper: $449 plus tax
- Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket (year-long): $499 plus tax with Park Hopper, or $529 plus tax with Park Hopper Plus
Every ticket can be upgraded: add the Park Hopper Plus option for $30 more, which layers in a set number of visits to Disney water parks, miniature golf, and golf courses based on the length of the ticket. All ticket types include Park Hopper access by default, meaning you can visit more than one of the four Walt Disney World theme parks on the same day. You can also add Memory Maker — Disney's photo-capture package — for a special military price of $98, well below the standard retail price.
All options require advance theme park reservations. Start planning your Disney World trip early, since reservation availability at peak times is limited.
The Disney Celebrates America Ticket: Is It Worth It?
The headline addition this year is the Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket — a year-style ticket that allows repeated admission to all four Walt Disney World theme parks throughout most of 2026 for just $499 plus tax. For families who will visit more than six or seven park days across the year, or who plan multiple trips, the math is compelling: it costs only $50 more than the 6-day option yet removes the day cap entirely.
That said, it's critical to understand what this ticket is not. Disney is clear that it is not a Walt Disney World Annual Pass. It does not include Annual Passholder perks such as free theme park parking, in-park merchandise or dining discounts (typically 10–20% for Annual Passholders), or access to exclusive AP-only resort discount windows. Holders can hold up to five park reservations at a time on a rolling basis, which is the same as the Sorcerer Annual Pass but requires a bit more advance planning than spontaneous visitors might prefer.
By comparison, the least expensive Annual Pass available to out-of-state guests — the Incredi-Pass — runs $1,629 plus tax. The Sorcerer Pass, available only to Florida residents and Disney Vacation Club members, is $1,099 plus tax. At $499, the Celebrates America ticket costs less than a third of the Incredi-Pass and less than half of the Sorcerer Pass, without the Florida residency requirement. For military families who won't lean heavily on passholder perks and don't drive to the parks frequently (parking costs add up without that free-parking benefit), it's an extraordinary value. For those who do want deep dining and merchandise discounts, or who are Florida locals making very frequent day trips, running the full cost comparison against an Annual Pass is worth the homework.
Planning Your Trip
Undercover Tourist is an authorized seller of Walt Disney World hotel and ticket packages, often with savings over booking direct.
Blockout Dates
All 2026 Walt Disney World Armed Forces Salute tickets — including the year-long Celebrates America option — share the same two blackout windows: March 29 through April 11 (spring break) and November 22 through November 28 (Thanksgiving week). Plan your trip outside these stretches for full flexibility. The valid use window closes December 18, 2026, for all ticket types.
Where to Buy (and How to Save on Tax)
Tickets can be purchased at participating U.S. military base ticket offices (ITT/MWR offices), Shades of Green Resort at Walt Disney World, or at Walt Disney World theme park ticket windows. Here's the key financial detail many families miss: tickets bought at base ticket offices or Shades of Green are sold tax-free, while purchases made directly through Disney's theme park windows include Florida sales tax. Some individual base ticket offices may also price tickets slightly below the advertised rates, so it pays to check locally. Tickets are also available through GovX.com for eligible service members with a valid military ID.
Once purchased, link your tickets to your My Disney Experience account and make theme park reservations as soon as possible — especially if your trip falls near the blockout-adjacent shoulder weeks when crowds are heavier. A waterproof lanyard badge holder is handy for keeping your military ID and MagicBand or card together at the tapstiles.
Purchase Limits and Fine Print
Each eligible service member (or their spouse — but not both independently) may purchase a maximum of six Military Salute Tickets total per offer period, regardless of ticket type. If the service member already holds a valid Walt Disney World Annual Pass, the maximum drops to five promotional tickets. For families larger than six, Disney does make exceptions for immediate families — check with your base ticket office or Disney directly for details. Tickets are nontransferable, nonrefundable, and cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions.
Resort Hotel Discounts
The savings don't stop at the park gate. Eligible military members can also book discounted rooms at select Disney Resort Collection hotels, with savings ranging from 15 to 30 percent depending on the resort category and travel dates, for stays most nights January 1 through December 18, 2026. Rooms allocated for this offer are limited, so book early. Some room categories — including certain concierge-level rooms and premium suites — are excluded. Shades of Green, the on-property hotel exclusively for military families and their guests, is a separate program with its own room rates and is worth comparing against the Disney resort discount offer depending on your family's preferences and travel style.
One Practical Tip Before You Go
Florida's summer heat is no joke, and theme park days are long. Pack a cooling towel for the whole family — it makes midday queues far more bearable. And since details like pricing, blockout dates, and purchase locations can shift from season to season, always verify the latest specifics at the official Walt Disney World website or with your base's MWR/ITT office before finalizing your plans. This program has been renewed every year since 2009, but terms do evolve — staying current ensures your family captures every dollar of savings it's earned.
