Disney Cruise Line’s Halloween on the High Seas program brings seasonal decorations, costumed character appearances, trick-or-treating and themed entertainment to select sailings in September and October.

The centerpiece aboard each participating ship is an Enchanted Pumpkin Tree in the atrium or Grand Hall. Each tree has its own name and story. On the Disney Treasure, the tree is Ginger, an Aladdin-inspired display with glowing jack-o’-lanterns and Agrabah imagery. A Pumpkin Tree storytelling ceremony, presented once near the start of the voyage, uses music and lighting to introduce the display.

Guests can meet Disney characters in Halloween costumes during the cruise, with times and locations listed in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. The lineup can include Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Chip ‘n’ Dale, plus Minnie, Daisy and Clarabelle Cow in Hocus Pocus-inspired Sanderson Sisters costumes. Oogie Boogie meet-and-greets are offered on select sailings.

Halloween programming also includes Mickey’s Mouse-Querade Party, a top-deck event with music, dancing and characters. On the designated Halloween night, guests of all ages can trick-or-treat at locations around the ship. DCL Fan reported Mars candy and some allergy-friendly choices were available aboard its Disney Treasure sailing.

Other seasonal offerings may include crafts, games and Halloween movie screenings, including Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Muppets Haunted Mansion and The Scariest Story Ever: A Mickey Mouse Halloween Spooktacular!. Seasonal treats, drinks and onboard merchandise are also part of the program.

The Halloween activities are added alongside the usual cruise programming, rather than replacing stage shows, pools, rotational dining and port visits. Pirate Night may also fall during a Halloween sailing, depending on the itinerary. Not every fall voyage participates, so travelers planning a Halloween-themed trip need to choose a sailing specifically designated as Halloween on the High Seas.
