A dual-language kindergarten class from Castleview Elementary School in Southwest Orange County received a surprise trip to Walt Disney World after Canadian content creator Zachery Dereniowski selected teacher Edna Borrero for a donation and classroom experience.

Dereniowski gave Borrero $6,000 toward her stated goal of retirement and arranged an all-expenses-paid Disney outing for her class, according to the West Orange Times & Observer. The trip included admission for each student and one guardian, transportation to and from the park, and $100 gift cards for families to use on gifts, food or souvenirs.

Borrero, who has taught for more than 30 years and has been at Castleview since the school opened in 2019, teaches 42 kindergarten students. Parent-Teacher Organization member Cyshelle Abboud nominated her after Dereniowski said he was looking for an Orlando-area teacher to recognize.

The group visited Magic Kingdom on Saturday, Oct. 3. Families and students began their day near the Walt Disney World Railroad before riding the ferry into the park. The Mad Tea Party was among the first attractions they experienced, while student Quinn Ballardin named Tomorrowland Speedway as her favorite ride.

For some of the children, the day marked their first visit to Walt Disney World. One student, Quinn, chose to give her $100 gift card to Give Kids the World Village, the Kissimmee nonprofit that provides no-cost weeklong wish vacations for critically ill children and their families.
