Construction on the entrance to Pueblo Esperanza is continuing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where the new Tropical Americas land is being built in the former DinoLand, U.S.A. area.

According to WDW News Today, workers visible above the project’s green construction walls were installing metal lath and corner bead on the future entry arch. The galvanized steel mesh is a preparation layer that gives stucco a surface to adhere to before the cement finish is applied.

Elsewhere in the work zone, yellow-painted block, roof framing and waterproofing work were visible. A central Pueblo Esperanza building and retaining wall remain in early construction, contrasting with themed walls and completed entrance pillars designed to resemble aged, moss-dotted stonework.

Former DinoLand buildings that housed Restaurantosaurus and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures have roof areas covered in Typar house wrap as new materials and theming are installed. Work is also continuing on the mountain feature and the steel framework for the Encanto Casita.
