Guests catching the Zootopia: Better Zoogether show at Disney's Animal Kingdom have a new surprise waiting before the main action begins. A preshow featuring Mayor Winddancer — a character introduced in Zootopia 2 — has been added, setting the stage for Nick and Judy's adventure to save Zoogether Day.
In the new segment, Mayor Winddancer appears on screen live on the air, hosting the Zoogether Day festivities. Things quickly go sideways, and just before the broadcast cuts out, he calls for the bunny and fox to step in — a clever setup that flows directly into the show's central storyline.
Other Zootopia 2 characters, including Nibbles Maplestick, can also be spotted throughout the show as Nick and Judy travel across the various neighborhoods of Zootopia investigating who's disrupting the celebration. The additions deepen the connection between the live show and the newer film.
