Guests staying at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resort will need to adjust their transportation plans for a short stretch in August. The resort's FriendShip boat dock is scheduled to close for maintenance from August 17 through August 21, 2026, according to Disney.

The FriendShip boats typically serve as one of the most pleasant ways to reach EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios from the Crescent Lake resorts — a leisurely ride across the lagoon beats a parking lot any day. During the closure, those connections shift to alternatives Disney is putting in place.

Guests heading to Disney's Hollywood Studios will have direct bus service available from the resort. For EPCOT, the easiest option is the short walk to the EPCOT International Gateway entrance, which is well within comfortable distance for most guests.

If you have park plans — especially early morning or late-evening reservations — at either EPCOT or Hollywood Studios during those five days, it's worth padding your schedule a bit to account for the change in routine. The bus ride and the walk to EPCOT's back entrance are both perfectly manageable, just slightly less breezy than floating there by boat.
