Walt Disney World brought some extra magic to Kissimmee this week, surprising children with critical illnesses and their families with a special World Princess Week celebration at Give Kids The World Village. The event featured fairytale-themed activities and personal interactions with Disney Princess characters.
The timing is meaningful: Disney notes that thousands of children with critical illnesses choose Disney Princess stories and characters as the centerpiece of their wish experiences each year. The company says a Disney wish is granted somewhere in the world every single hour of every day.
The celebration also marks a significant milestone in a long-running partnership. Walt Disney World and Give Kids The World have collaborated for 40 years to create wish vacations for children and their families. Disney serves as a founding partner of the Kissimmee-based nonprofit, which provides Central Florida wish experiences at no cost to qualifying families.
