Universal Orlando Resort is leaning into its monster legacy in a couple of distinctly different ways right now. While Epic Universe's Dark Universe land delivers full gothic immersion in the village of Darkmoor, Universal Studios Florida is taking a lighter approach — a new cartoon-styled merchandise collection gives Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, the Bride of Frankenstein, the Wolf Man, and friends a bright, playful makeover.
The Universal Studios x Whatever! Monsters collection is available now at the 5 & Dime shop inside Universal Studios Florida. Items include tote bags, bag charms, smaller handbags, and mystery merchandise, all featuring the colorful illustrated artwork. Inside Universal first shared photos of the line on X on July 29, 2026.
The softer aesthetic is a deliberate contrast to the monsters' traditional horror presentation — and to the genuinely scary experiences guests can find over at Dark Universe, where the headline ride, Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, puts riders face-to-face with several of those same creatures in a much more intense setting.
Horror fans have another reason to keep an eye on Universal Studios Florida as Halloween Horror Nights 2026 approaches. The beloved Horror Make-Up Show, which has entertained guests for decades with practical effects demonstrations, prosthetics, and audience participation, is currently closed for theater updates. Universal has not announced a reopening date, but the format is expected to remain largely intact once the venue refresh is complete.
