Windy conditions and dangerous surf continued along Florida’s Treasure Coast on Oct. 26 after a weekend when king tide flooding coincided with a strong onshore flow.
The rough conditions were reported at Pepper Park Beach in Fort Pierce and Ross Witham Beach, affecting coastal areas in St. Lucie and Martin counties. Photos from the area showed heavy surf along the shoreline.
At Pepper Park Beach, St. Lucie County resident Jennifer Gregory was seen using a metal detector despite the rough surf conditions.
