The biggest recurring food moment of the season is Visit Orlando's Magical Dining® presented by Orlando Health, running through September 30. More than 180 restaurants are offering multi-course prix-fixe menus at $40 or $60 per person, with a portion of each ticket going to charity. For a single-night splurge, Taste! Central Florida on August 28 brings small-plate tastings from over 60 eateries — including MICHELIN-recognized spots like Ômo by Jônt, Coro, and Kappo Tsan. And on September 21, Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs hosts its inaugural Sushi Showdown, pairing signature dishes from Orlando's top sushi chefs with optional sake pairings and live entertainment.
Free events are genuinely plentiful this month. Harry P. Leu Gardens opens its gates at no charge on September 7 — the first Monday of the month — and it's the last chance to spot the whimsical fairy doors hidden across the 50-acre grounds before they're removed for the season. On September 13, the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens in Winter Park celebrates Czech Heritage Day with free admission and live music in a lakefront setting.
