Guests visiting Tokyo Disneyland can no longer enter Cinderella Castle for the time being. Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall, the castle’s walk-through attraction, closed October 1, and Tokyo Disney Resort lists its reopening date as TBD.
The attraction had allowed visitors to explore rooms inspired by Cinderella’s story, with paintings, dioramas and other displays. Its photo locations included Cinderella’s throne and the glass slipper.
Tokyo Disney Resort’s calendar continues to show the attraction unavailable through November and into December, affecting guests visiting during the resort’s Christmas season. Disney has not announced the reason for the closure or a date for its return.
Tokyo Disneyland’s Cinderella Castle opened with the park in 1983 and closely resembles the 189-foot Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Unlike the Florida castle, which includes Cinderella’s Royal Table and the Cinderella Castle Suite, the Tokyo castle’s Fairy Tale Hall had been its main guest-accessible interior experience.
