Disney's Play Disney Parks app is heading into retirement. The interactive companion app, which guests have used to pass time in queues and explore in-park activities, will officially go offline on September 16, 2026.
One of the app's most beloved features — the Star Wars: Datapad, which let guests interact with the world of Galaxy's Edge through their phones — will retire along with it. For many visitors, the Datapad added a meaningful layer of immersion to their time on Batuu.
Not everything is disappearing, though. The Batuu Bounty Hunters experience will continue to be accessible through MagicBand+ as well as screens located within the land itself, so that activity survives the app's closure in a different form.
