Construction at Magic Kingdom's upcoming Piston Peak National Park area is entering a new phase, with crews now installing a tower crane at the site. Unlike the mobile, wheeled cranes typically seen in earlier stages of a project, a tower crane is a more permanent fixture — and its arrival strongly suggests significant vertical construction is on the horizon.
The blue steel framework of the crane's base is visible near a concrete retaining wall toward the center of the build zone. The structure's scale becomes clearer when you spot the workers nearby — one in an elevated lift, another on the ground — who look remarkably small next to the rising tower.
Once fully assembled, the crane is expected to stand taller than most existing structures within the park, offering a sense of just how ambitious the Piston Peak build will be.
This follows a similar pattern seen at Disney's Animal Kingdom, where a tower crane was installed during construction of the Tropical Americas expansion last year.
