Tampa Global Shapers teamed up with Filipino-American restaurant Lucky Tigre for “Party at the Polls,” a voter-education gathering in Old West Tampa designed to help residents learn about candidates and ballot issues.

The Thursday event was part of the group’s Shape the Vote initiative, which encourages participation and informed decision-making. Organizers selected a location within walking distance of an early voting site.

Global Shapers volunteer Kayla McClymont said attendees sought help interpreting ballot amendments, which can be difficult to understand. The gathering also gave neighbors an opportunity to discuss issues and hear differing perspectives, organizers said.

Lucky Tigre owner Julie Feliciano said hosting the event was a way to encourage people in the community where she lives and runs her business to use their voices.

In Hillsborough County, early voting continues through Sunday, Nov. 1, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Registered voters may use any county early voting site during that period. On Election Day, Nov. 3, voters must go to their assigned polling place.
