Construction is moving forward on the Monsters, Inc. door coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where exterior wall panels and roof decking are beginning to enclose the large attraction building behind the future Monstropolis area.

Recent aerial images shared by bioreconstruct show blue panels covering portions of one exterior wall. Darker blue panels line lower sections, with lighter blue above them, while other portions of the steel-framed building remain open. Roofing now covers substantial areas as well, though open sections still offer views into the attraction’s interior.

Inside the main ride room, pale gray suspended coaster track has been installed among dark supports. The visible sections include sharply banked curves, although gaps remain where more track is expected to be added.

Work is also underway on an elevated concrete floor along one side of the building. The loading area remains identifiable in the aerial views by two tall gray steel structures and curved brown framing. According to the construction overview shared by bioreconstruct, vertical lift mechanisms there will raise ride vehicles before they move into upper portions of the attraction and then into the larger ride room.

Monstropolis is replacing Muppets Courtyard and is expected to open in phases. Disney has said parts of the land will welcome guests in 2027 while work continues on the coaster, but it has not announced an opening timeframe for the attraction. Disney has previously described the project as its first suspended coaster and first vertical-lift coaster.
