Disney World's Mobile Order system has developed an odd behavior during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom, and it's the kind of thing that can quietly unravel a carefully mapped-out evening. Guests who place food orders through the My Disney Experience app select an arrival window in advance — the idea being that they can keep enjoying the party and only head to the restaurant when the time is right. Lately, though, some guests are getting "your order is ready" notifications well before that window has even started, and before they've checked in at the restaurant at all.
Disney Food Blog first flagged the issue after attending one of the Halloween parties, reporting that it happened not once but twice during the same visit — and both times the food really had been prepared ahead of schedule. That's an important detail: this wasn't a false notification. The meals were sitting and waiting at the counter before the guests had any intention of heading that direction.
On a regular park day, early food prep is mostly just surprising. During Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — a separately ticketed event running on select nights through October 31 — the stakes are higher. The party packs trick-or-treating, exclusive character meet-and-greets, special entertainment, and Halloween-only menu items into a few hours. Guests who chose a later Mobile Order window likely did so deliberately, building their evening around it. A surprise "food's ready" ping forces an immediate choice: drop everything and hustle across Magic Kingdom, or risk arriving to food that's been sitting longer than ideal.
It's not yet clear how widespread the issue is. Disney Food Blog noted it couldn't determine whether the glitch was limited to one party night, tied to specific restaurant locations, or connected to Mobile Order operations during the event more broadly. Disney has not publicly addressed the problem. For now, guests attending upcoming parties might want to build a little extra buffer around their Mobile Order window — avoiding a pickup time that falls right in the middle of something they can't easily walk away from — just in case the same thing happens.
