The Melbourne Art Festival will not take place at Wickham Park in 2027 as previously planned, organizers announced.
Festival leaders cited rising costs and a lack of volunteers as key reasons for canceling the spring event. The festival has served as a gathering place for artists, vendors and neighbors, according to ClickOrlando, and residents told the outlet it helped bring visitors to the area while giving artists and craft vendors a place to showcase their work.
The cancellation follows other recent changes in Brevard County’s event calendar. MTI Country Fest said it would not move ahead with its 2026 event, while the Space Coast Art Festival also ended its event. Organizers for those events likewise pointed to rising costs and volunteer shortages as challenges.
Rather than holding the annual festival, Melbourne Art Festival leaders plan to host a Fine Art Auction early next year. Organizers hope it will raise money for future events and continue the organization’s scholarship efforts.
