Construction on a new ferryboat dock at Magic Kingdom's Transportation & Ticket Center is visibly advancing, with fresh photos from August 26 showing crews have installed wooden pillars and connected them to an existing walkway using wooden joists. The new dock is designed to expand capacity for guests crossing the Seven Seas Lagoon between the TTC and the park's main entrance.
Walt Disney World filed the original construction permit back in February, and Florida's state water management district gave the project its formal green light in March. Plywood barriers and heavy equipment followed over the summer months, with timber first arriving on-site in early August before crews began cutting and placing the structural pillars.
The expanded dock is tied directly to the arrival of a fourth ferryboat, the Meg Gilbert Crofton, named after a former Walt Disney World president. That vessel isn't expected to enter service until sometime in 2027, and Disney has not announced an opening date for the dock itself.
A large barge previously spotted hauling an excavator was no longer at the site as of August 26, though it's not yet clear whether that signals the end of the heavier construction phase or simply a temporary absence.
