Guests staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village this fall will want to plan around a significant lobby refurbishment that kicks off August 17, 2026, and wraps up in early November. The project unfolds in several distinct phases, each affecting different parts of the resort.
The main lobby and primary entrance close first, from August 17 through October 9. During that stretch, check-in relocates to the Palace Library. The gift shop, Johari Treasures, also closes August 17 but reopens much sooner — on August 29 — making it a relatively short disruption for shoppers.
The middle phase, September 28 through October 9, takes down the north side lobby corridor, including the second-floor elevators on that side and the outdoor terrace observation deck. The final phase runs October 26 through November 6 and is the most wide-reaching, temporarily closing Community Hall, the Safari So Good Arcade, the laundry room, lobby restrooms, the outdoor terrace observation deck — and the Palace Library itself, which had been serving as the temporary check-in location. Disney has not announced where check-in will move during that final window.
Throughout the project, Disney says guests should expect to see and hear construction activity in and around the lobby during daytime hours, with some periods of noticeable noise. Anyone with a stay overlapping these dates may want to reach out to Disney in advance to understand exactly which amenities will be available.
