Jacksonville-area residents and visitors have a busy weekend ahead Oct. 9-11, with major concerts, the Northeast Florida Fair, a pop-culture convention and free music performances on the calendar.

Phish plays VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, in what is listed as the band’s only Florida stop this year. Tickets are $96.50 to $148. Across the region, Jacksonville’s Tedeschi Trucks Band performs at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday while touring behind its new album, Future Soul. Tickets range from $60 to $196.

The St. Augustine Amphitheatre’s concert weekend continues Sunday, when The Avett Brothers take the stage at 6:30 p.m. The Secret Sisters will open. The show is the final date on the band’s tour until New Year’s Eve, with tickets priced from $78 to $112.

For a family-focused outing, the Northeast Florida Fair opens at 5 p.m. Friday and at noon Saturday and Sunday at the Nassau County Fairgrounds in Callahan. This year’s “Southern Nights and Fairground Lights” event includes rides, racing pigs, alligator shows, live music, livestock competitions and baking contests. Admission is $10, and unlimited-ride offers are available on most days.

WasabiCon marks its 15th anniversary at the Prime Osborn Convention Center, beginning at 3 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday. The convention brings together anime, cosplay and gaming fans for creator appearances, contests, a goth rave, tournaments and seminars. Tickets are $30 to $75.

Architecture fans can visit midcentury homes during the 10th Arlington Mod & More home tour, beginning at Norman Studios at 10 a.m. Saturday and noon Sunday. The $29 tour includes houses built in the 1950s and 1960s, plus the round Geodesica Spindle house and the Sammis house, which dates to the early 1800s.

Two free concerts round out the options. The U.S. Marine Corps Band, known as “The President’s Own,” performs at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Lazzara Performance Hall at the University of North Florida. Registration is required, and guests must be seated 15 minutes before the show. The Phaeton Piano Trio opens the Beaches Fine Arts Series at 4 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul’s By the Sea Episcopal Church in Jacksonville Beach.
