Jacksonville Beach is expecting large crowds this July 4th weekend as part of the nationwide America 250 celebration, and city leaders want everyone to have a good time — safely.

Mayor and other city officials have made public safety a top priority heading into the holiday, encouraging beachgoers and visitors to be mindful of their surroundings and follow any guidance from local law enforcement and emergency personnel on the ground.

The America 250 milestone brings an extra layer of excitement to what is already one of the busiest beach weekends of the year in Northeast Florida, making coordination between city departments especially important.

Residents and visitors alike are asked to plan ahead, stay aware, and look out for one another as the celebrations get underway along the shore.
