Halloween Horror Nights 35 is adding a Fortnite-inspired scare zone to its lineup. Universal Orlando Resort confirmed that Freaky Fields, a zone rooted in Fortnite's annual in-game Halloween event Fortnitemares, will debut when the event opens August 28, 2026. Universal Studios Hollywood follows on September 3.
Freaky Fields places guests inside what Universal describes as a Halloween-themed living battleground overtaken by a threatening force. Familiar Fortnitemares characters appear alongside new figures created exclusively for Halloween Horror Nights, and the iconic Battle Bus makes an appearance. The objective mirrors the game itself: survive and escape with a victory.
Freaky Fields joins an already-announced lineup that includes haunted houses based on Stranger Things Season 5 and Evil Dead Burn. The overall event carries the theme "Infernal Carnival of Nightmares," with HHN veterans Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow serving as co-hosts. Universal says additional announcements are still on the way.
A Fortnitemares-themed merchandise collection — including a graphic tee, a decal set, and an acrylic collectible — is available now at both parks, with online sales opening July 23 at 9 a.m. PST via ShopUniversal.com. Halloween Horror Nights 35 runs select nights through November 1 at both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood.
