Universal Orlando Resort has revealed that Art the Clown, the terrifying villain from the Terrifier franchise, will share the spotlight with the Killer Klowns from Outer Space in a new Halloween Horror Nights 35 scare zone called Downtown Clowntown. The zone will be set in the park's New York area, just outside the Tribute Store.
The mash-up puts two of horror's most recognizable clown properties under one roof — or rather, one city block. According to Universal, the setting imagines a city overrun by Killer Klowns, Art the Clown, and an assortment of other menacing clownsfolk. Art the Clown made his Halloween Horror Nights debut last year with the Terrifier haunted house at both Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood.
The Killer Klowns themselves are no strangers to the event. Based on the 1988 sci-fi horror comedy, the characters have appeared at Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando and Hollywood across multiple years, including scare zones and full haunted houses dating back to 2018.
Downtown Clowntown joins several other announced scare zones for HHN 35, including Infernal Carnival of Nightmares, Sideshow of Decay, and FORTNITEMARES. The event runs on select nights from August 28 through November 1, 2026, and features ten haunted houses ranging from Stranger Things to Hellraiser to an Ozzy Osbourne-themed experience.
