Progress is visible at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, where the Alice in Wonderland-themed splash pad has been under refurbishment since August 12, 2026. The giant Mad Hatter's hat water bucket — a centerpiece of the play area — has been unwrapped after spending time covered in plastic, though the splash pad itself remains closed and water has yet to return to the structure or its slides.
A construction lift was still on site during a recent visit, suggesting work is ongoing. Three character portraits — depicting Alice, the White Rabbit, and the Mad Hatter — were spotted off to the side of the structure and appear to be in the process of being reattached to the splash pad.
Disney has not announced an official reopening date for the play area. Families visiting the Grand Floridian in the near term should plan accordingly, as the splash pad is not yet operational.
