Plans for Universal Orlando's Fast & Furious: Supercharged have shifted significantly. The resort has confirmed the ride will permanently close on August 17, 2026 — roughly a full year sooner than the 2027 end date that had previously been announced.
The acceleration caught many fans off guard, and it narrows the window considerably for guests who had been counting on a future visit to catch the attraction one last time. Anyone with trips planned for 2027 who wanted to experience the ride will need to revisit their itineraries.
Fast & Furious: Supercharged has had a mixed reception since opening, with opinions divided on how well the motion-simulator experience fits within Universal's lineup. Its earlier-than-expected closure suggests the resort may be moving quickly on whatever comes next for that space.
No announcement has been made yet about a replacement attraction, so guests and theme-park watchers will be keeping a close eye on what Universal has in store for the location after the doors close next August.
