Solo coaster fans, take note: the single rider line at Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain is on its way out at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Signage directing guests to the dedicated queue has been removed from the exterior corner of the Serka Zong Bazaar gift shop near the attraction's entrance, and cast members have confirmed the option will officially close in the near future.
For now, single rider loading is still technically available — but only if you know to ask. Guests will need to approach the cast member stationed under the umbrella at the entrance and request it directly, as the queue is no longer advertised. Worth noting: the My Disney Experience app still lists "Single Rider Offered" under the attraction's accessibility and other information as of this writing.
When the single rider line does close, Animal Kingdom will lose its only such offering. Across the broader Walt Disney World Resort, single rider queues remain available at a small number of attractions, including Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney's Hollywood Studios, along with Remy's Ratatouille Adventure and Test Track at EPCOT.
The move follows a change to Expedition Everest's loading procedure earlier this year that significantly lengthened waits for single riders. The beloved roller coaster, located in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom, sends guests racing through the Himalayan mountains before a surprise encounter with a broken track — and the legendary Yeti.
