Penny collectors visiting The Seas With Nemo & Friends at EPCOT have a new reason to dig through their change. The SeaBase Aquarium gift shop recently swapped out its old pressed penny machine for one of Walt Disney World's next-generation models, which features a large touchscreen and updated tap-to-pay options.
The new machine sits along the same wall as the collectible medallion, customized tag, and portable charger machines. It's the shortest of the bunch but shares the same blue exterior paneling as its neighbors, giving the whole station a cohesive look.
Pricing is straightforward: a single penny runs $1, or you can grab all eight designs for $5. The lineup still draws from Finding Nemo and The Little Mermaid, but every design is brand new — and notably, Finding Dory characters have been dropped entirely. The new coins also favor a horizontal orientation rather than the vertical format of the old set. Characters featured include Ariel and Flounder, Nemo, Squirt, Bruce, the Seagulls, Crush, Dory, and Marlin with Nemo — each Finding Nemo coin includes the film's logo and the character's name.
This machine is part of a broader rollout of the next-generation penny machines across Walt Disney World; similar upgrades have also recently appeared at Magic Kingdom.
