Disney hasn't officially spelled out what the work involves, but the pavilion's elaborate rockwork — along with its waterfalls, gardens, and winding pathways — is a likely focus. The Canada Pavilion has been part of EPCOT since opening day in 1982, and keeping those naturalistic outdoor elements in shape is an ongoing challenge, especially given the real plantings whose root systems complicate access to underlying structures.
The most significant change for visitors is the closure of the pavilion's wheelchair-accessible walkway leading to the Canada Far and Wide film. To keep the 360-degree attraction accessible, Disney is directing guests who need that accommodation through the attraction's exit instead. Canada Far and Wide itself remains open, so the pavilion isn't fully shuttered — just partially rearranged.
The Canada work is part of a broader stretch of refurbishment activity around World Showcase. Both the Germany and Morocco pavilions have seen construction and refurbishment work in recent months, a pattern that reflects the ongoing effort to maintain a park with more than four decades of wear on its architecture and landscaping.
