Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom is getting a brand-new 11-acre land called Pueblo Esperanza as part of the upcoming Tropical Americas expansion, and one of its standout attractions is already turning heads. El Carrusel de los Animalitos — a large carousel described as being "sculpted by a local woodcarver" — will offer riders a spin on 22 distinct animal figures pulled from across the Disney universe.
Several of those animals have already been revealed. At D23 2024, guests got a peek at Kevin, the colorful bird from Up!. Then at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August 2026, more familiar faces were unveiled: Eeyore, Pua from Moana, and Nigel from Finding Nemo are among the characters confirmed to have a spot on the ride.
The Pueblo Esperanza land is themed around the stories of Encanto and Indiana Jones and will also include two signature attractions in addition to the carousel. Disney has set a 2027 debut date for the entire land.
If you're already thinking about planning a Walt Disney World visit around this opening, keep in mind that construction is still underway and the specific launch date within 2027 has not yet been announced.
