Disney World's mobile ordering feature just got a little more flexible. Guests can now place mobile orders at select quick-service restaurants located at Disney resort hotels without needing to be physically close to the location first — a change that makes it easier to plan meals in advance and hop between resorts without the guesswork.
Previously, the app required guests to be on or near the property before an order could be placed. Now, when a pop-up appears noting that mobile ordering is reserved for resort guests, tapping "OK" allows anyone to proceed with the order regardless of where they're standing.
Disney Food Blog confirmed the updated functionality at two Monorail-resort spots: Captain Cook's at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and the Contempo Cafe at Disney's Contemporary Resort, with both working smoothly. It's a handy perk for guests who enjoy touring different resorts and grabbing a bite along the way.
One important caveat: guests should wait until they're actually at — or just about to arrive at — the restaurant before tapping "I'm here," since food preparation begins at that point and no one wants a cold plate. It's also worth noting that app-based mobile orders generally don't allow for customizations, so guests with modifications should plan to order at the counter instead.
