Guests planning a Walt Disney World resort stay in the near future may want to prepare for the possibility of some construction activity nearby. Disney has filed general construction permits for five of its on-property hotels, covering a range of resort tiers from Value to Deluxe.
Two neighboring resorts on Hourglass Lake are both on the list: Pop Century Resort and Art of Animation will each receive general construction work in their lobbies. Pop Century's lobby was already renovated earlier this year, so this new permit signals additional work ahead for that space.
Over in the Wilderness area, the Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge also has a new general construction permit filed. Guests booked there should be aware that some activity may be visible or audible during their stay.
At Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort, the filed permit covers an administration building rather than guest-facing areas, which means visitors are less likely to be directly impacted — though proximity to the work site could still result in some noise. Rounding out the five, Disney's Contemporary Resort has also received a general construction permit.
Disney has not announced start dates for any of these projects or indicated whether any closures will result. This story was first reported by Disney Food Blog.
